    Global Government Strategies Partner at Fragomen

    Julia is a Partner specialising in Global Government Strategies and Compliance at Fragomen. She divides her time between London and Dubai. Julia supports clients worldwide to optimise global mobility strategies, enhance compliance and leverage best practice in all critical immigration-related policies including crisis management. In addition, Julia advises private clients on complex international migration solutions. Before joining Fragomen Julia was a Partner, Legal Markets Leader and Head of Global Immigration at PwC.

    Julia has advised several governments on immigration matters. She liaised with the UK government and business on Brexit and has given expert evidence at the European Parliament. Julia was a formal advisor to the Home Office in the UK on business investment and growth and represented business at the UK Prime Minister’s immigration stock take meeting. She continues to participate in stakeholder engagement with the UK government and liaises closely with governments in the Middle East.

    Julia is the co-signatory of a number of reports on the impact of migration and is publicly recognized as a thought leader in global immigration.

    Murtaza has deep knowledge of regional business immigration, mobility and deployment issues. His experience includes working with companies in a variety of sectors offering strategic advisory, design and management of immigration programs tailored to the region’s requirements and best practices. Murtaza is a Fellow at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales having worked in the Audit and Corporate Finance Advisory divisions at a Big Four Accounting firm.

    Liz is a UK qualified employment lawyer and Certified Information Privacy Professional, based in the UAE. After 10 years in private practice in the UK, South Africa and the Middle East, Liz moved inhouse and joined Accenture, where she is responsible for employment and immigration law strategy and compliance across the Middle East and Africa. As part of her role Liz works closely with Accenture’s Mobility team to support a 500,000+ globally mobile workforce.

    Liz is also part of a team focussed on strategic employment law initiatives, including Accenture’s COVID response and the Future of Work and works as an investigator within Accenture’s Conduct Counts Matters team, addressing conduct related matters in the workplace.

    Liz is a passionate Inclusion & Diversity and ESG advocate and sits on Accenture’s Inclusion & Diversity Committee and Co-Chair’s ACC MENA’s ESG Working Group. She is excited by the potential of digital to drive societal change.

    Anne-Marie completed a BA Hons in Hospitality Management from the University of Brighton, UK and subsequently joined Marriott in 2001 as an Operations Voyager on their Graduate Program. Anne-Marie transitioned to the Human Resources discipline in 2002 and held a variety of on property management HR roles across Marriott properties in 2 Continents. In 2011 Anne-Marie transferred into the Middle East & Africa Continent Office based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates as Director of HR Services & Reward for the Middle East and Africa.

    After being promoted to Senior Director in 2013, Anne-Marie was appointed as Vice President HR in 2016 with a focus on HR Centers of Excellence; Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits and Learning & Development. In 2017 Anne-Marie transitioned to lead HR market operations for the Middle East & Africa. She partners with the Chief Operating Officers and Area Vice Presidents and leads the Area HR and HR compliance teams to support the region’s performance, deliver talent and organisational efforts and lead key initiatives in the region. Anne-Marie was named as one of Hotelier Magazine’s Top 25 influential women leaders of the hospitality industry in the Middle East in 2019 and 2020 and holds Chartered Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development.

    Tim is a Director at IBM where he leads a global team that supports business needs for cross border talent. Tim is based out of North Carolina where he started his career in IBM's Corporate Accounting Team. 11 years ago, Tim transitioned from his career in Accounting and started the journey of transforming IBM's Mobility program. The transformation journey focused on improving the IBMer experience by designing efficient processes and utilizing technology to navigate the complexity of regulatory requirements across tax, immigration, and posted worker. This involved extensive travel across the globe to re-imagine how IBM enables it's mobile workforce and engages it's partners through technology. During this time at IBM, Tim held responsibility for Mobility tax, Mobility compensation and shadow payrolls, business travel compliance and immigration.
